Lamu Dhow Race Regattas

Lamu dhows are famous for their speed and during the main season from July to April main races are taking place. Each race usually involves 10 to 15 dhows the fierce an exiting ancestral atmosphere.

• August race – between 14th and 20th
• Lamu Cultural Festival – 25th-27th November 2011
• New Year – January 1st
• Easter – Easter Sunday
• Maulidi – 14th-17th February 2012
• Eid (Ramadan) – Around 19th August 2012
